For most individuals a camera is simply just that. A camera. For me it acts as a messenger. A medium allowing the observer to meet people, live moments, and cherish memories that were otherwise inaccessible. It conveys emotions and stories and in the right hands it can discover perspectives unseen by ordinary eyes and create something completely new. I’ve deemed the ability to do this the “sixth sense of creativity”. The ability to find the unseen angle. The perfect composition. The ability to sit back and look at something and put your own twist on it. This is limitless in nature and can be applied to any subject or project.
For over a decade, I've been trying to hone this ability and make this abstract thought more tangible. Ive been lucky enough to travel the world and weave my perception through photos and videos into both film and digital formats. I was born and raised in the small town of Kamiah, Idaho which allowed me from a young age to appreciate the greatest creative we know, mother nature. I learned early on that creation was my calling and greatest passion and that I wanted to live a life focused on documenting moments and energy. When I turned 18 and made the decision to go to college, I wanted to chase a degree in something that my passion aligned with, not something that would snuff it out. Other than my aforementioned ability to create, I also have a natural ability to talk to people and connect on common ground. After some of the most impactful four years of my life I graduated with a Marketing degree from the University of Idaho in 2022 and I dove headfirst into the world of visual story telling.
You’ll never find my work associated with stiff poses or forced composition. My work is alive. It's infused with energy, raw emotion, and fresh perspectives. I'm a natural connector, that focuses on building rapport with people to capture their authentic selves. Whether it's the quiet intensity of a solo portrait or the electrifying chaos of a live concert, I strive to evoke thought and feeling with everything I put my name on. My camera has taken me all over the world and I share a mutual appreciation for the smokey bar rooms, river beds, and mountain peaks that have welcomed my presence.
You may or may not know me personally, but regardless please accept these next words as if they were from a close friend. You have to do what you love in this life. You have to recognize that passion that burns inside your chest and points you in certain directions. We might get 75 years here if we are lucky so please romanticize the small things. That first cup of hot coffee in the morning, the sun shining on your face while you drive, that certain song that will put a knot in your throat. When you begin to live a life true to yourself and appreciate these small thing… you start to move through the world different.
Life is nothing more than your own beautiful movie, direct it accordingly.
Thank you for being here,
